TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

Our Goal:

ViviMed Integrated Health is committed to building a safe and healthy community for Toronto and the GTA. Time is the most important factor in saving a life and reducing injury.  Therefore, the quicker we respond to the emergency the better the outcome. Above all, we create a stronger community when more of our neighbours are ready and able to recognize and respond to emergencies. Our initiative is to promote a safe, connected and healthier community through first aid and CPR training.

Key areas of Priority:

  • Injury Prevention: Prevent and reduce injuries involving body contact (football, hockey), motorized vehicles, alcohol and other drugs and uncontrolled environments (hiking, camping).
  • Trauma Assist: Reduce the time to respond to emergencies by learning the proper technique, skills and knowledge to approach the scene with confidence.
  • Community Awareness: Increase positive perceptions of safety in the home, school, community and workplace. As a result, we become aware of the risk of injury associated with our daily activities. Moreover, we create a safe environment through education and training.

Therefore, we are committed to our goal of helping to build a safe and healthy community for all of Toronto and the GTA.

Advance the health and safety of our community by gaining the skill and confidence to respond to an emergency at work, in public or at home.  Our training courses are designed for anyone that wants to learn how to help themselves and others in the event of an emergency. Moreover, the more Canadians we train in first aid and CPR the safer our community. Building strong communities is central to the vision of ViviMed Integrated Health. Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about first aid and CPR training? Check out our frequently asked questions (FAQs) or contact us.

Who is a first aider?

Anyone with a valid first aid certificate can be a first aider. A role of a first aider includes recognizing an emergency, contacting emergency medical services (EMS) and provide prompt care until the EMS arrives to the scene.

Is there a difference between first aid training and CPR training?

First aid refers to the care provided to an injured person until professional medical care can be obtained.

CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation which involves the combination of rescue breathes and chest compressions. CPR is done to circulates blood that contains oxygen to vital organs in a person suffering from cardiac arrest when the heart and breathing have stopped.

In a Standard or Emergency first aid course, there is a component of CPR training recognized WSIB. Alternatively, CPR can be taken as a stand-alone course.

What are the different levels of CPR certification?

Level C courses teach first aid and/or CPR for adults, children and infants. In our commitment to serve the community, ViviMed offers at minimum Level C courses to ensure people receiving training to provide first aid and/or CPR to all age groups.

Level HCP courses also teach first aid and/or CPR, plus additional information for Health Care Providers. The course is designed for doctors, nurses, paramedics, and others health care professionals. In addition to the contents in Level C, this course also teaches Bag-Valve Mask (BVM), two-rescuer CPR, and the pulse check.
